Cover Reveal – YOU TURN by Marion Croslydon

YouTurn.v5(1)

Releasing October 6, 2014

Adult Contemporary Romance

Cover designed by Najla Qamber Designs

Eleanor Carrington knows how to love, and to love deeply. She also knows how it feels to have your heart torn to pieces. The blue-blooded daughter of a political heavyweight, she has never wanted for anything…

… Except the love of two very different men.

She was engaged to her second lover, Joshua McBride, only to find out he already had a wife and a child. After that ego-bashing experience, she flees to Paris to stay with her self-medicated mother. While keeping her mom from popping pills like gummy bears, Eleanor launches a new, no-strings-attached life plan: sleeping around and absolutely NO falling in love whatsoever. On her part at least, because her self-esteem could do with one or two Frenchmen going un peu crazy for her.

What she doesn’t need is for Grand Amour Number One to burst back into her life. What she doesn’t need is all-American Zachary Murdoch—or a more mature and sensitive version of him—to schmooze his way into her life again.

Now a club-owner in Paris, Zach is intrigued by the troubled woman who was once the sweet girl he had to give up. Offering a shoulder for her to cry on is what he owes her. Falling for her is what he has lost the right to.

But Paris is known as the City of Love for a reason…

Will he be her turn at love?

*** You Turn is a contemporary adult romance and part of the Second Chances series. However, Lenor’s story can be read as a stand-alone novel. There is no cliffhanger. ***

Excerpt:

I couldn’t stop thinking about that kiss. How she’d tasted, how she’d felt in my arms. Despite the difference in our size, Kit fit perfectly against me—like she was made to be there. We had chemistry, alright. But that was all it was or would ever be.

“Excuse me, can you tell me where I can find Shannon Jones?”

The voice came out of nowhere and I lurched up, banging the top of my head on the edge of the fire truck door. Biting back the “fuck me” that could get me written up, I straightened, turned, and found myself looking right into the eyes of the woman I’d just been obsessing over.

Kit was standing there in my station, an expression of surprise and then concern on her face as she glanced to where I’d clonked the living shit out of myself just seconds before. She was wearing a low-cut, little blue sundress and cowboy boots and everything else was miles of bare skin and dark curls. My brain went mushy. Maybe I’d hit my head harder than I’d thought.

Her voice was full of concern as she moved closer. “Max, are you okay? I didn’t mean to sneak up behind you.”

I stared at her like an idiot. In person, I was reminded again of just how gorgeous she was. She walked towards me and I couldn’t move, couldn’t take my eyes off of her. If you looked up “dumbstruck” in the dictionary, you’d see my goofy-ass face pasted right next to it.

I still hadn’t answered when she stopped in front of me. Standing on tiptoe she touched my recent injury. “Are you sure you’re okay?”

Her voice was feminine, with a whiskey-edge that tied my gut up in knots. Her hand was cool on my over-heated skin and, as she moved closer, I could smell her sweet, summery, honeysuckle scent. All I wanted to do was pull her lush curves against my body, take her mouth, and find out exactly where this crazy chemistry would take us.

I definitely had a head injury because suddenly I realized that I had her close enough to do all those things and I wasn’t doing anything about it.
Get your shit together, Butler. Carpe the fucking diem.

I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards me, turning us so she was backed up against the door of the fire truck. She still held her packages in her hands and I missed the feel of her touch on my body, but I could work with what I had.

She stared up at me, her big, blue eyes wide with shock but mostly what I saw there was curiosity. She licked her lips and that was all the invitation I needed. I leaned into her, bypassing the prize of her mouth to press a kiss to her throat, just above the place where her pulse pounded against her skin. She was delicious all over, sweet and warm, and I wanted to drag her down to the floor and bury my cock inside her body for hours.

I looked down and realized that my hands were shaking, my breath as quick as hers—and I hadn’t even kissed her yet.

“When we fuck, it’s probably going to kill me.” It came out as a growl, as I tipped her face up to mine and wasted no more time in taking what I wanted.

Kit didn’t play games, no pretending that she didn’t want this, too. She opened to me, meeting my tongue more than halfway when I dove inside. She was as hungry as I was and the kiss was anything but the usual finesse I used on women. There was no slow seduction here. It wasn’t in my power to play games. I was at the mercy of whatever she would give me.

I slanted my mouth over hers, barely giving her a chance to take a breath before I went at her again like I was starving.

And I was famished. For her. It was the craziest thing I’d ever experienced, but I wasn’t going to let a little insanity stop me. It never had before.

I wrapped my arms around her waist, inserting my body in between her legs. The skirt of her dress rode up high on her thighs as I pressed my hard-on against the hot cleft of her pussy. I rolled my hips against her and she dropped the bags in her hands with a thud against the concrete, weaving her fingers into my hair with a pressure that brought a little pain with the pleasure.

I didn’t care. She could do whatever she wanted to my body as long as I got to do exactly what I was doing right now. As long as she let me do this and so much more.

STEALING THIRD by Marta Brown – book blitz

StealingThirdBlitzBanner
ST
Stealing Third by Marta Brown
Publication date: July 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
Synopsis:

For Emily, going to camp, the summer before college starts, means leaving her feuding parents alone for the next eight weeks, and coming back to divorce papers is a risk she can’t take.

But no matter how many meddling phone calls, questionable hair decisions, and possibly illegal hookups she plans, her parents still march her off to Camp Champ totally against her will.

No matter. A few broken rules, and Em will be home free. That is, until she learns Tyler Ford, her baseball coach father’s star player and her drunken party hookup, is at camp, too.

For Tyler, summer is the onramp to the biggest decision of his life: med school or major leagues. Mega hot, possibly underage Emily? A complication he does not need.

But as the summer heats up with strikeouts and stolen bases will Tyler and Emily hit a home run and get what they’re after? Or will they both be thrown a curveball…in the game of love?

Excerpt:

Emily

“Emily, there you are,” Jenny says, walking into the cabin, the screen door banging closed behind her. I fold the letter to Kat and slip it back in the box before shoving it under my bed again. “What are you up to?”

“Just got back from the batting cages. You?”

Jenny smiles. “I went up to the baseball field with some of the girls after getting done with crew.”

“Watching the boys?” I ask, despite already knowing the answer. It’s her favorite daily activity.

“Just one in particular,” she squeals, causing me to wince as she bounces across the room, still in her spandex from practice, and sits down at the end of my bed.

I push further back against my pillows to put some distance between us and roll my eyes. This isn’t a hard one to guess either. If ogling Todd were a sport, she could have earned a first place ribbon last summer.

“Let me guess, you were checking out T—”

“Tyler,” she finishes, cutting me off.

My breath catches. My Tyler?

She must read confusion on my face because she clarifies. “You know, the counselor from cabin four—the one with the crazy kissable lips.”

Yep. That’s the one.

A nerve in my neck pinches. “Yeah…I know exactly who you mean.” Considering his crazy kissable lips is all I’ve thought about for days.

“Anyway, I came to grab a blanket and some sunscreen and I’m headed back up to the field. Some of the guys are about to have a pickup game.” Jenny pushes off my bed, grabs her beach bag and starts to head out the back door before stopping and tossing me a look over her shoulder. “Btw—you can come if you want.”

A pickup game? With Tyler?

I smile, knowing the invitation is superficial, but I could care less.

I hop off my bed, throw on my tennis shoes and grab a hair tie. I’ve avoided him for long enough. If it’s games Tyler wants to play, at least this one I know the rules to.

“Oh, great,” she deadpans. “You’re coming.”

I sweep my hair into a ponytail and grab my lucky baseball hat.

“Nope. I’m playing.”

Tyler

The baseball field is dusty and hot, and it’s exactly where I want to be.

Between job shadowing Doc, thinking about Emily in that teeny tiny bikini—which I completely shouldn’t be—and the pressure of choosing between medicine and baseball bearing down on me like the mid-afternoon sun, I’d almost forgotten how excited I was to spend the summer at a camp dedicated to sports.

“All right, guys, I know it’s just a pickup game, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to play like it’s the bottom of the ninth in the seventh game of the World Series.” Mark, one of the other counselors who plays ball claps his hands. The whistle hanging around his neck and the clipboard tucked under his arm reminds me of Coach. “Am I right?”

“Right,” the team echoes in unison before scattering to our various positions.

Grabbing the rim of my baseball hat and tugging it down low to block the sun from my eyes, I pump my fist into the hollow cup of my well worn glove and settle in at shortstop.

“Let’s do this,” I call, and then proceed to choke on the cheek full of sunflower seeds in my mouth at the sight of Emily walking out of the other team’s dugout—in something way hotter than a tiny bikini.

A baseball jersey.

Shooting me a wink, she bends down, grabs a helmet, and slips it on before approaching homeplate. She kicks in her toes, drawing up dust as she grips the bat and readies herself for the pitch.

Damn, she looks hot. And by the slack jawed faces of my teammates, and frankly, her team, too, I’m not alone in my thinking. Maybe that’s why Mark gives her a nice easy pitch right down the middle.

She hits a hard and fast line drive right between me and the second baseman, and before I can even scramble for the ball, she’s on first and smiling at me.

I shake my head. Of course she plays baseball—why wouldn’t she? She is the coach’s daughter after all.

But staring at Emily standing on first base, tying her jersey into a high knot and revealing her toned stomach, I’m starting to get the feeling she’s playing with a whole different set of rules. Ones I’m pretty sure her dad didn’t teach her.

Title: Escaping Me
Author: Elizabeth Lee
Age Group: NA
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Published: July 30, 2013
Description:
All she wanted to do was forget. Forget the memory of walking in on her boyfriend in the middle of, well, another girl. Forget how she had her entire life planned out. And, forget about being perfect all the time. Unfortunately, she was Whitney Vandaveer and despite the fact that she moved to the middle of nowhere – she couldn’t.

He always knew he would never be more than nothing. No job, no money, no future. Cole Pritchett had accepted the fact that he would always be the screw up and he was okay with it. Until he met her.

Here’s the thing they quickly found out – sometimes we all need a little help escaping who we think we are.

Excerpt:
I hold my head back and walk toward the delivery truck.  Cole’s eyes are down on the clipboard he is holding in his hands as he double-checks what he has to take off the truck.
You’re a little late to take me up on the drink offer,” I tease as I cross the gravel drive toward him, shuffling my flip-flops against the rocks.  I am hoping that maybe he is a morning person and will be in a better mood than the last time I saw him.  No such luck.  He looks up at me quickly, adjusting the bill of his hat to shade his face, and then back down at his clipboard.  Not even the hint of a grin on his lips. Wow.  His expression is as cold as it was last night when he walked away from me.  He shakes his head, albeit subtly, but to me it is like a flashing neon sign that says, “Go away.”
He sets the clipboard down on the hood of the truck, his eyes never once drifting back to mine.  Instead, he turns his back and walks behind the truck.  He lowers the gate and pulls the pallet lift, loaded up with whatever it was my
mom ordered.  As he lowers the lift to the ground, he keeps his focus on what he is doing.  It is painfully obvious that he is avoiding looking at me.  Maybe I should have looked in the mirror again? I thought my fitted pink t-shirt and black cotton shorts were cute pajamas. Maybe I was wrong.  Do I look that horrible this morning?
Just put it outside the barn doors over there,” I say between clenched teeth.  Who the hell does this guy think he is?  Never in my life have I been so callously ignored.  I glance over my shoulder at my mother and Mallory, who are still watching from the kitchen window.  I roll my eyes at them and turn back to see if Mr. Personality has finished what he came here to do.  As infuriating as this situation is becoming, I can’t help but notice how fantastic his ass looks in his
jeans.  The worn denim hangs from his narrow waist perfectly—not cowboy tight and not gangster loose.  The gray t-shirt that is stretched across his back reads Wilson Lumber Yard with their catchy slogan underneath—“We
Got Wood”.  I fight back a giggle.  At least someone has a sense of humor.  He unloads the pallet and has the lift back in the truck, all while managing to completely not acknowledge my existence.
I’ll just go ahead and sign for this so you can be on your way,” I say as he climbs out of the back of the truck.  This time, the icy tone of my voice catches his attention. I can feel his eyes on me as I walk to the front of the truck.   “I’d
hate to keep you from the obviously more important things you would rather be doing.”  Leaning over the hood, I
pull a pen from the holder on the top of the clipboard.  My frustration with his attitude is made perfectly clear as I furiously click the plunger on the top of the pen.  My eyes are busy scanning for the space I am supposed to sign when a sudden shadow is cast over my shoulder.  I can feel his breath on my neck and his body resting behind mine.
It must be the nature of the position we are in because I have to fight the urge to back into him.  To feel his hard body against my backside.  My skin is on fire and my brain immediately tries to reason that it is anger as opposed to something else.
Do you mind?” I snap, turning to tell him to back off.  But he doesn’t. Instead, he places his hands on the truck,
catching me between his muscled forearms and pinning me between his delicious body and the truck.  Even under the
bill of that hat he is always wearing, I can see his shaded eyes narrow in on mine.  It isn’t with contempt or agitation—it is something else.  Yes.  He is looking at me like he wants to tear my clothes off, and I would let him.
He closes the distance between us.  Here we are, chest to chest.  The air around me instantly thickens, making it nearly impossible to breathe.  His eyes go to mine and then to my lips, the same way they did at the bar.  He takes in a shallow breath, and I can tell he is having a hard time breathing, too.  I’m not sure if I should duck out from under him and run or throw myself against him.  I’ve never been so intimidated or so turned on in my life.  It is infuriating.  He licks one corner of his lips and I think for sure he is going to kiss me.  Seconds tick and he still hasn’t moved.  Is he waiting for me to give him the okay?  Does he really want to kiss me?  I raise my chin slightly and let my eyes close.  I hold my breath, waiting for his lip to fall on mine, and forget every reason I should be mad at him for.  That is
until he utters three words that manage to remind me.
No signature required.”

Author Bio:

Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany… I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.

When your life has been ruined by lies, do you seek justice … or revenge?

Blythe Messina spends her senior year focused on her studies and college, and not on her ex, Stratford High’s lacrosse star, DB Whitmore. At least, that’s what Blythe keeps telling herself. But her younger cousin, Bonni, knows otherwise. Same goes for DB, who professes to be over Blythe and their breakup, but his teammates aren’t fooled.

When scandalous photos of Bonni and the lacrosse captain are texted around Stratford, Bonni’s virtuous reputation is ruined. She pleads innocence, but no one believes her. No one, except Blythe and DB, who come together to uncover the truth. But, will they stay together?

Ruined is a modern twist on a classic Shakespearean romance.

“Deceit, loyalty, honor, and romance–Ruined has it all! A teen version of Much Ado  About Nothing that Shakespeare aficionados are sure to savor!”

DB WHITMORE

It looked like a fire drill, the way students came streaming into the gym. Loud, and stoked, and all sporting our school colors of black and gold, the entire student body was here today to pay homage to Stratford High’s winningest team. My teammates and I had nailed the state

championship in lacrosse. We deserved to be celebrated and admired. Besides, we all looked damn good in these new jerseys.

I scanned the crowd for a Hugo Boss suit. Our wealthy sponsor, Leo Messina, had three folding chairs reserved for him in the front row right beneath this makeshift stage. One for him, one for his daughter, Bonni, and one for his niece …

“Gonna get a cramp in your neck.” Cory Rash, left-wing attacker and one of my best buds, checked me in the ribs. “Keep staring around for Blythe Messina like that and you’ll strain something.”

“Who said anything about her? We’re history. You know that, man. I’m a free agent now. Means I can have my choice of any tail here.”

“Or any chick that Paolo throws our way.”

We both looked at our captain and center attacker, Paolo Prince, reigning “king” of Stratford who at this moment was preoccupied with all his adoring fans in the bleachers.

“Paolo! Text me! Call me!” Every female at this pep rally vied for his attention.

“Think he ever gets tired of that?” Cory asked.

I stared at him for a moment, and then we both cracked up.

“Hey, DB.” Cory nudged me. “Messina’s here. That his daughter?” He motioned toward the sophomore taking a seat in the front row next to our sponsor.

“Bonni, yeah.”

Cory’s mouth hung open. “She’s hot.”

“Bonni’s two years younger and millions richer than you, so close your trap.”

“Hey! I can handle young and rich, Douche Bag.”

“You so can’t, Diaper Rash. You can barely manage your own equipment.” I nodded at his jock.

“Watch it! I always know where my stick is. If you know what I mean.”

Our principal, Dr. Bard, stepped up to the podium. This show was about to begin.

“Well, good for you,” I whispered to Cory. “’Cause you’ll have to take care of your stick if you date that girl. Bonni’s VP of the Pro Abstinence Club.”

“For real?”

Dr. Bard tapped the mic. “Testing. Uno, dos, tres.”

“Real as that trophy.” I motioned toward the four-foot-tall loving cup on display beside the podium. “You’re not even in the same dimension as that girl.”

Cory crossed his arms, slumping in his seat. “You should talk. Looks like your ex is a no-show.”

I threw a casual glance toward the empty folding chair next to Mr. Messina. Bonni stood near her seat, facing the back of the gym. Kind of a short-stuff for a sixteen-year-old, Bonni bobbed up and down on her toes, struggling to see over all the heads.

Dr. Bard raised his arms, signaling for quiet.

“Too bad Blythe’s not here to witness your glory,” Cory whispered.

Yeah, too bad. Blythe used to love to come to our games. Never missed a match all junior year. But this season, our best season, she’d never shown. Guess she really had no reason to come after our break-up. It wasn’t like she’d a true fan of lacrosse. Just a true fan of me. I snuck another peek at those folding chairs.

Bonni was waving. “Here! Over here, cuz!”

I searched through the late-comers straggling into the gym until I spied Blythe—all five-foot-one of her, with her dark hair pulled back in that tight-ass braid. I liked it better when she wore her hair loose and long, but I could overlook anything when she dressed like she had today in those skin-tight jeans that hugged every sweet curve. Blythe looked mighty fine in that snug pink tee—Hey! Where was her black and gold? A growl escaped my lips.

“Something wrong, man?” Paolo asked, as the clamor in the gym died down.

“Nothing.” Nothing I couldn’t handle. Or ignore.

“Welcome, Stratford!” Dr. Bard said. “What an exciting day! Our heroes hath returned victorious.” Everyone cheered. The band paraded up the center aisle of the folding chairs, trumpets blasting our school song. Students tried to sing along, but no one really knew the words.

I made a feeble attempt at joining in, but it was hard to concentrate with Blythe and Bonni arguing, well—more like gesturing—in disagreement. No one and nothing could be heard over the brain-damaging blare of the mighty Falcons marching band. Bonni waved to Blythe, pointing like mad to the vacant chair beside her. Blythe stood against the back wall, shaking her head, and irritating the crap out of me.

Why wouldn’t she sit down?

Because. She couldn’t stand to be near me.

What was Blythe’s problem? The breakup had been almost a year ago. She needed to get over it already. I had. Besides, I had her to thank for being up here today. I’d played better than ever without her around. Chicks only messed with your head. My mind had been free and clear of chick-drama all season, and look where that had taken us. To state!

Thank you, Blythe, I wanted to scream … as she trudged up the center aisle.

“Looks like she made it after all.” Paolo leaned forward to catch Cory’s attention. The two busted out laughing as the band came to a halt.

I flipped them both off.

“That was superb!” Dr. Bard clapped, revealing those strange pleather patches on the elbows of his tweed jacket. Who wore tweed anymore? And in April? The guy was unique, I’d grant him that. But he was also fair and enthusiastic, especially about sports, and the theater, and well, just about any activity at Stratford. “Excitement is high today for our returning champions! Nineteen wins and only one loss! A new state record!”

The place went berserk. This was my moment of glory just like Cory had said. So how come I didn’t feel so victorious? I shot a quick look at that front row.

Blythe was filing her nails.

“And so without further ado, I give you the man who led the charge. Our own fearless Falcon, Coach Francis!” Dr. Bard stepped back, flicking at his shoulder-length ponytail which had gotten caught under the button-down collar of his shirt.

Coach approached the mic, looking more imposing than usual in a new black and gold tracksuit. The whole team rocketed to their feet. I stood with deliberation, stretching and flexing the muscles of my well-toned abs.

Was she looking? I checked out the corner of my eye.

Blythe was messing with her cell.

“Thank you. Thank you.” Coach motioned for us to sit down. “This has been the most exciting year of my life. And one of the best teams I’ve ever had the privilege to coach. Thanks to the incredible leadership of our captain and this state’s lead scorer, Paolo Prince.”

Crazy doesn’t even begin to describe the bedlam in the gym. Girls and guys alike chanted, Paol-o, Paol-o, as he hefted our first-place cup and swaggered from one end of the platform to the other.

“We need to acknowledge the generosity of Mr. Leo Messina of Messina Motors.” Coach waved Mr. Messina forward. “Leo and I go way back to our college days playing lacrosse for State U.”

Mr. Messina squeezed Bonni’s shoulder and then rushed up onto the stage. “It was my pleasure to sponsor this team,” he said into the mic. “I enjoyed every exciting minute of this season.” He and Coach shared an enthusiastic handshake. Mr. Messina patted Paolo on the back. “Coach, I know you have an awards banquet planned for Saturday. But I’d like Dr. Bard’s permission to move the festivities to my house.”

Blythe shot up. Her chair went flying backward.

I looked at her and this time, she looked back, her intense, brown eyes scrutinizing me from the inside out. For one instant, I couldn’t breathe or move or think. And then she turned and stormed down the aisle and out the gym doors.

What should I do now? Go to the banquet or stay away?

Damn women! They wrecked everything. Especially that infuriating one.
