If you loved THREE LITTLE WORDS by Lauren Hawkeye, the story continues in KISS ME TWICE and you have got to get your hands on it! We can’t wait for you to finish Mal, Adele and Dorian’s story.
About KISS ME TWICE: Part 1
Adele Cavanaugh wasn’t looking for a man at all… and she found two.
Happy for the first time ever, Adele is finally moving past the tragedy that tore her world apart. But everything changes… and Adele knows that only too well. Just as soon as everything goes right, it falls to pieces yet again.
Dorian and Mal struggle to define their relationship.
Dorian’s band gets an opportunity that will take him away from her and Mal.
And Adele struggles with desires that conflict with the tragedy she’s lived through.
There are too many hearts on the line… and all three question if they can make it in a world set up to run two by two.
Please note: this story includes some boy-on-boy kissing, a scheming ex-fiance, and of course, Humper the cat.
Kiss Me Twice is the continuation of the story started in Three Little Words. It is a novel told in two parts, and it has a cliffhanger. If you missed it… it has a cliffhanger.
Lauren Hawkeye/ Lauren Jameson never imagined that she’d wind up telling stories for a living… though when she looks back, it’s easy to see that she’s the only one who is surprised. Always “the kid who read all the time”, Lauren made up stories about her favorite characters once she’d finished a book… and once spent an entire year narrating her own life internally. No, really. But where she was just plain odd before publication, now she can at least claim to have an artistic temperament.
Lauren lives in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada with her husband, toddler, pit bull and idiot cat, though they do not live in an igloo, nor do they drive a dogsled. In her nonexistent spare time Lauren can be found knitting (her husband claims that her snobby yarn collection is exorbitant), reading anything she can get her hands on, or sweating her way through spin class. She loves to hear from her readers!
Fate Buchanan just wants to escape the constraints of her old life. After checking her mother into rehab and catching her fiancé with her maid of honor the night before their wedding, she ran. Angry and hurt, she’s aching to do something reckless.
Dean Maxwell is having one last summer of freedom before taking over his family’s multi-billion dollar medical conglomerate. When he sees a beautiful woman running down the beach alone after dark, he knows it’s not safe. So he does something impulsive.
When their paths cross unexpectedly after a night of unbridled passion, neither of them can forget the memory of the affair they shared. What began as one night is about to become a whole lot more.*While part of the Second Chance series, this novel is a standalone.
CAISEY’S CASTING PICKS
EXCERPT
“God, you’re so f*cking beautiful.”
Her eyes widened up at him. She could only imagine how she looked. Hair messy and damp, his shirt sliding off one shoulder, eyes glazed over.
“You are.” He shook his head as if searching for the words to explain his attraction to her. “That first night, swear to everything holy, I thought you might be some mythical creature come to steal my soul. But you were so damn beautiful that I would have given it to you.”
She kept quiet, afraid to move or speak and risk breaking the magic that kept him with her, kept him from running. He wasn’t running. He was opening up and being honest.
Dean lowered himself into the bed beside her, propping on one elbow and facing her. Fate mirrored his position and admired the way the moonlight lit his handsome face.
“I asked the universe for a sign. It sent me you.”
Her whispered confession made him smile. But his expression turned serious far too soon for her liking. “I felt it the moment I saw you. A compulsion like I’d never felt before, as if some unseen force propelled me toward you without my consent. I’ve felt it ever since.”
Fate rested her head on her hands and nodded against them. “I feel it too. I’m just…a little afraid of it. Of what it might cost us.”
“My mom used to say that things worth having didn’t come easy and that the kind of girl that was worth waiting for wouldn’t wait on anyone. Those two adages keep coming back to me every time I think of you.”
She inched her hand over toward his. “Do you do that often? Think of me?”
Dean kept eye contact, only breathing and watching her. “Define often.”
Fate grinned. “More than once a week.”
The slight curve of his lips faded and his gaze became a heavy, tangible thing she could feel pressing into her.
“I thought of you every day, Fate. And I didn’t even know your name. Even after I did… I think after that, it was more like several times a day.”
She wanted to keep this moment, to keep him here with her just like this. Both of them exposed and vulnerable. It was real and honest and—despite her exhaustion— exhilarating. But she knew it wouldn’t last forever. Nothing ever did.
“Sleep with me tonight. Don’t leave. Just… Just sleep with me, please.”
He nodded, letting his fingers interlace with hers between them and placing a soft kiss on the top of her hand. “I’m not going anywhere. Goodnight, sweetheart.”

Fractured Lines by Jen McLaughlin will be releasing October 14th, but first we have some exclusive content to share. Each week, FINNClub team members will be sharing special details from the book, and series, in order to share their excitement for the new novel.
Today we have an author guest post from Jen McLaughlin explaining why she chose to continue the series by bringing in an adult title.
Finn and Carrie—adult style
When I decided to write another Finn and Carrie book, I knew where I had to pick up the story. At the end of OUT OF MIND, we fast forward seven years. So if I wanted to give the readers what they wanted—which was more Finn and Carrie—that’s where I had to pick up.
To take a NA book and turn it into an adult book is (to my knowledge, anyway) not something that’s been done before. It’s a bit daunting of a prospect, but I knew that it was something I wanted to try anyway! And I have to say, it’s been so much fun to take these NA characters, make them grow up…and put them through hell all over again, so to speak, lol.
I’m hoping that by taking these younger characters and turning them into something new and fun, in a way, it can let people who haven’t experienced these characters as NA characters to enjoy them as adults. And on the flip side, it will let the readers who came along on their earlier journey experience a new side of Finn and Carrie…their mature/adult sides.
What do you think of this concept? Would you like to see other NA characters turned into adult books?
BOOK BLURB:
The lines we once crossed so easily have widened and torn us apart…
Once upon a time I thought Finn and I would live happily ever after, but real life doesn’t always have a happy ending. He’s testing my trust, and I’m losing faith in the man I thought I’d spend the rest of my life with, and there’s nothing I do can stop it. He’s the one I trusted to keep me safe, but now he’s the source of my greatest pain…
Forgiveness is fragile, and some fractures never fully heal…
One mistake—a slip in a moment of weakness—might cost me everything I’ve worked so hard for. The thing about trust is that it’s a lot easier to lose than it is to build. Just as I’m about to give up and surrender to the demons from my past, an unexpected threat reminds me what I’m best at: protecting the woman I love. Whether or not she wants me, I will fight for Carrie and our daughter, and I will keep them safe—no matter the cost.
Even if I have to put my life and my heart on the line.

As I lay there, trying to swallow a loud, obnoxious yawn, I remembered something he’d said when we first met, about life being too short. I imagined he had firsthand experience with shortened lives while he was serving. That mentality came from experience. I got that now. Could even understand it, but there was something I didn’t understand.
“Why?” I asked.
There was a beat. “Why what?”
Jax sounded tired, and I should shut up or point out that I was now tired and could sleep, so he could leave. But I didn’t. “Why are you here? You don’t know me and . . .” I trailed off, because there really wasn’t anything left to say.
A minute went by, and he hadn’t answered my question, and then I think another minute ticked on, and I was okay with him not answering because maybe he didn’t even know. Or maybe he was just bored and that was why he was here.
But then he moved.
Jax pressed against my back, and the next breath I took got stuck in my throat. My eyes shot open. The sheet and blanket were between us, but they felt like nothing.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Getting comfortable.” He dropped an arm over my waist, and my entire body jerked against his. “It’s time to sleep I think.”
“But—”
“You can’t sleep when you talk,” he remarked.
“You don’t need to be all up on me,” I pointed out.
His answering chuckle stirred the hair along the back of my neck. “Honey, I’m not all up on you.”
I freaking begged to differ on that point. I started to wiggle away, but the arm around my waist tightened, holding me in place.
“You’re not going anywhere,” he announced casually, as if he wasn’t holding me prisoner in the bed.
Okay. The whole prisoner thing might be melodramatic, but he wasn’t letting me up. Not when he was getting all kinds of comfy behind me.
Oh my God, this was spooning. Total spooning. I was spooning with an honorary member of the Hot Guy Brigade. Did I wake up in a parallel universe?
“Sleep,” he demanded, as if the one word carried that much power. “Go to sleep, Calla.” This time his voice was softer, quieter.
“Yeah, it doesn’t work that way, Jax. You have a nice voice, but it doesn’t hold the power to make me sleep on your command.”
He chuckled.
I rolled my eyes, but the most ridiculous thing ever was the fact that after a couple of minutes, my eyes stayed shut. I . . . I actually settled in against him. With his front pressed to my back, his long legs cradling mine, and his arm snug around my waist, I actually did feel safe. More than that, I felt something else—something I hadn’t felt in years.
I felt cared for . . . cherished.
Which was the epitome of dumb, because I barely knew him, but feeling that, recognizing what the warm, buzzing feeling was, I fell right asleep.

When she accepted the position in an art gallery as an art restorer, she never expected to get caught up in a world of high-end art theft, or become the target of a ticked off cartel leader… A single name. His entire identity. From the time Celt accepted the brand of his organization, he more than happily signed his identity over, not giving a second thought to his handler scrubbing his identity from the world. It was the price he had to pay. With a new contract, he expected it to be cut and dry, even if his new employer could get a bit grabby, but what he didn’t expect to find was the girl caught in the middle of it all…and worse, his growing attraction to her. There was no room for love in the life he led…
But he had never been one to follow the rules anyway…

My Review
Feels like I’ve been waiting forever for this one! When Calla is introduced in Be With Me, I was instantly intrigued. I wanted to know her story…who was she going to end up with and what were her secrets?
Stay With Me gives us Jackson James…he is my new favorite. With Calla and Jax both keeping secrets, their story is a page turner that kept my eyes on the pages. Teresa, Jase, Cam and Avery all make an appearance and it is always fun to catch up with favorite characters.
J. Lynn continues to give readers memorable characters with Calla and Jax and new characters, Reece, Roxy and Katie. Stay With Me is a fast paced, engaging story that will stay with the reader long after the last page. I’m looking forward to J. Lynn’s next book.
