Blog Tour and Review – READY TO ROCK by Cara Connelly

 by Cara Connelly

Available 12/01/15

Readers of Cara Connelly’s Save the Date series met Jack and Lil McCabe in The Wedding Favor.  Go back in time and experience Jack and Lil’s original love story, with a hefty dose of romance and suspense.  Ready to Rock, is Connelly’s first indie title. Ready to Rock won RWA’s Golden Heart award (under the title The Sinners), and the Valley Forge Romance Writer’s Sheila Award (also under The Sinners).

His name’s on everyone’s lips–sexy rocker Jack McCabe. His gritty New York City band is red hot, almost as hot as his fiery affair with photography student Lil Marchone, the girl from his past, now the woman he loves. The problem is, Lil’s controlling ex wants her back. Rich, powerful, and ruthless, he’ll stop at nothing–including murder–to get Jack out of her life. But Jack’s a badass himself, always up for a fight. And with the stakes this high, he’ll risk everything for Lil, even his band. Even his life.

A wolf whistle sliced through the street noise, calling me back to the present. I’d wandered into the crosshairs of a dozen construction workers sitting along the Jersey barriers that separated their work site from the sidewalk. They were eating lunch and checking out the girls, including me. Most of them were grinning. One waggled his fingers in a wave.

Hiding behind my sunglasses, I pretended to ignore them while I checked them out from the corner of my eye. They were the usual assortment of sizes and shapes. A few beer guts, a few shaved heads. But when my gaze hit the last guy in the row, I did a double take. And then I froze in my tracks.

Jesus Christ, it can’t be him!

But it was. I would have known him anywhere.

Slowly, inexorably, I walked toward him. Obviously, he didn’t recognize me. He wasn’t whistling or grinning like the others, just watching me with a calm expression, admiring but not leering.

I stopped directly in front of him. “Jack? Jack McCabe?”

Surprise flickered in his eyes, but he said coolly, “Who’s Jack McCabe?”

I pulled off my sunglasses. “He’s the man who pulled me out of a burning car six years ago.”

His eyes widened. “Well, hell,” he breathed. Then he broke into a smile so dazzling that it literally knocked me back a step.

My God, he’s gorgeous! His face was cut from the finest granite, rugged with two days’ beard. His black hair was straight and glossy, falling loose to his shoulders. And when he stood up, he towered over me, six foot two and built like you dream about, narrow waist rising in a V to wide chest and broad shoulders, his long arms roped with the lean muscle of a man who earns it the hard way—by working, not lifting weights at a gym.

Touching one big hand to the small of my back, he started to walk, drawing me away from the rest of the guys.

Blog Tour and Review – THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM by M. O’Keefe

For fans of Christina Lauren and Jodi Ellen Malpas comes the next novel in M. O’Keefe’s breathtakingly sexy series about a woman called into a journey of the heart, body, and soul.
We played our roles, told each other lies.

But now Dylan is no longer just a mysterious deep voice on the other end of the line. We’re face-to-face and our relationship is very, very real.

We still have secrets—but so much is crystal clear:

The thrilling danger.

The raw, naked desire.

The need to keep feeling the way he makes me feel. Forever.

Dylan is putting up walls, trying to keep me safe, but he can’t shut me out. He has seen my darkness and rescued me. Now it’s my turn, if only he will let me.

The Truth About Him is the sequel to M. O’Keefe’s Everything I Left Unsaid.  We pick up right where we left off with Annie and Dylan.  At times I was left on the edge of my seat while reading, not just because of the unfolding mystery.  I was totally riveted by Annie and Dylan’s relationship.  Are they going to find their way together or apart?  I loved the chemistry and sexy hot scenes.

O’Keefe delivers well developed characters that pull you in and have you along for the ride.  I can’t help but want to read more and hope that we’ll see Max and Joan again.

Molly O’Keefe has always known she wanted to be a writer (except when she wanted to be a florist or a chef and the brief period of time when she considered being a cowgirl). And once she got her hands on some romances, she knew exactly what she wanted to write.

She published her first Harlequin romance at age 25 and hasn’t looked back. She loves exploring every character’s road towards happily ever after.

Originally from a small town outside of Chicago, she went to university in St. Louis where she met and fell in love with the editor of her school newspaper. They followed each other around the world for several years and finally got married and settled down in Toronto, Ontario. They welcomed their son into their family in 2006, and their daughter in 2008. When she’s not at the park or cleaning up the toy room, Molly is working hard on her next novel, trying to exercise, stalking Tina Fey on the internet and dreaming of the day she can finish a cup of coffee without interruption.
