THE REAL THING on Goodreads

In this electrifying novel from Cassie Mae, two close friends surprise themselves by shifting from platonic love to sexual attraction.

Eric Matua has one friend—his best friend and childhood sweetheart, who needs a place to stay for the summer. Mia Johnson has thousands of friends—who live in her computer. Along with her email chats and Facebook notifications, Mia also devours romance novels, spending countless hours with fictional characters, dreaming of her own Romeo to sweep her off her feet. When she starts receiving supersweet messages from a stranger who thinks she’s someone else, Mia begins to believe that real love is possible outside her virtual world.

When the two friends become roommates, Mia finds herself falling harder than she ever thought she could. But Eric keeps his desires locked away, unsure of himself and his ability to give his best friend what she deserves in a boyfriend. As her advances are continually spurned, Mia splits her time between Eric and her computer. But she soon realizes she’s about to lose the only real thing she’s ever had.

MY REVIEW

We start off in Keiser, Florida but head to Daytona Beach for the summer.  Mia is headed to the beach to work the summer and catch up with her best friend, Eric.  Eric has returned from Samoa and staying the summer at the family’s condo.  The beach makes a great setting for their summer story.

With a summer as roommates, Eric and Mia finally admit to long felt feelings and move beyond friends only.  As their relationship develops, Eric continues to battle anxiety and panic attacks.  Not knowing why Eric sometimes pulls away, Mia’s virtual world is always at her fingertips…her books, texts, facebook and twitter notifications, and email chats.

The Real Thing has it all.  I loved the realistic portrayal of all things social media that Cassie Mae gives us in this sweet, emotional read.  The Real Thing had me smiling, laughing, sniffling and turning the pages until I hit the last page.

Burning Through Gravity

Addison Moore

(Ford’s POV)

“You are a gorgeous creature, Stephanie Eaton.” Her lips press white before returning to their natural crimson state. “How did I ever get so lucky?” There’s an ache in my chest when I say it. Most things in my life that are too good to be true usually are, but for some reason she’s too good and she’s still here with me.

“I don’t believe in luck, Ford.”

“You can’t deny that something brought us together twice in one lifetime.”

“What do you think that was?”

“I think God needed another great love story.”

“Divine intervention—great love. I like how you think. Now kiss me.”

BOOK SUMMARY:

BURNING THROUGH GRAVITY—they soared so high so fast they never expected the fall.

Two beautiful souls.

Two seemingly innocent deceptions.

Once they meet, Stevie and Ford explode into one another in a ball of lust, hotter than a July moon. Ford is assertive, dominate and in control, that is until Stevie brings him to his knees. He thinks she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever met both inside and out. Stevie thinks he’s sweet, and sort of goofy—of course it doesn’t hurt that he drips sex like honey.

Stevie is starting to fall hard for Ford.

And Ford is all in with Stevie.

She wonders if he could ever forgive her for what she’s about to do.

She wonders if she wants him to.

They say love conquers all.

But love never met two liars like Stevie and Ford.

His lie cost her a few sleepless nights.

Her lie will cost him everything.

MY REVIEW

As soon as I saw the cover I wanted to read Burning Through Gravity.  From the start I wanted to read more of Stevie’s story.  Years after her twin sister’s death, Stevie is still trying to deal with the loss.  She meets Ford and there is instant, undeniable chemistry.  With their meeting, I was turning the pages to see where their story would take them next.

Addison Moore gives  us strong, well-developed characters in Stevie and Ford.    There are twists that kept me reading with a few surprises.  Burning Through Gravity is a wonderful start to a new series and has me looking forward to the next story.
