“You need a good guy. A long-term guy. One who does dates and romance and emotional strings…I’m just an asshole who wants to tie you up, make you come, and walk away.”

Samuel Bradshaw is a man with a reputation—the kind of reputation that should have me running the other way. Instead, it has me searching for the shortest distance to his bed. I won’t be the starry-eyed girl who thinks she can change a man like Sam, and despite what he thinks, forever is not what I need. I need the things he makes me feel, the way he turns me on, and the promise of pleasure in his eyes. This promises to be SOMETHING WILD.

Excerpt from SOMETHING WILD by Lexi Ryan

© 2014 by Lexi Ryan

Sneaking into this room seemed like a great idea when I was on the dance floor with him, his hard body pressed into mine, but alone in the quiet conference room, I’m pretty sure this could be the most reckless thing I’ve ever done.

What if someone catches us in here? Hell, what if he doesn’t come? What if he does? I’ve thrown myself at Sam before, and it didn’t end well. He has no idea how hard I took his rejection, or the decisions I made after I left his room that night.

I should leave. I should . . .

The door clicks and then Sam steps inside, his eyes raking over me.

“Hey,” I whisper. “You came.”

He closes the door behind himself, turns the lock, then stalks toward me.

Thank you! the girlie bits shout. Stupid brain upstairs was about to ruin everything!

“Are you sure you want to do this?” His voice is a low rumble that I swear I can feel right between my legs.

Hell yes, I want to do this.

But I also don’t. Because Sam’s no longer some unrequited crush. He’s a friend. And if this goes to hell, it’ll make my life exponentially more awkward.

“We need rules,” I say quickly.

He takes another step closer. And another. Until I’m looking at his chest, smelling his aftershave. He tilts my chin up with his index finger then traces my lips with his thumb. “Hold that thought?”

I nod, nearly breathless at nothing but the touch of his thumb skimming my lips.

“I need to do this first.” He cups my jaw in his big hand and brushes his lips over mine. My lips part in surprise at the gesture that’s almost . . . sweet. He deepens the kiss, slanting his mouth over mine and sliding his tongue inside.

He tastes like beer, and I want to get drunk on this kiss—to overindulge until I can’t see straight, to imbibe until sobriety is a distant memory.

This is how kisses should be. I love the way his hand slides into my hair as he samples my lips, love how his kiss manages to be simultaneously gentle and demanding. It’s the kind of kiss that makes your toes curl, the kind worth remembering in five years when you’re lonely and bored and wondering if kissing had ever been so sweet.

When he pulls back, his eyes are hooded, darker. Sexy as sin. “Now, what were you saying?”

I have no idea. “Ru . . . rules?” I manage.

“Ah, yes. Well, I’ve never done well with rules, but tell me yours and I’ll see what I can do.”

I take a breath and try to figure out a rule that isn’t just Kiss me like that every time, or Please don’t make me fall for you.

“You keep looking at me like that,” he warns, “and I’m going to kiss you again, and we may never get to discuss these rules of yours.”

Right. “We can’t tell anyone,” I say. Cally and my sisters will try to make more of this than the one-night stand I know it to be.

His expression shifts and becomes unreadable. “Okay. What else?”

“This doesn’t change anything between us. We’re friends.” Something in my chest objects to that rule. It feels like a betrayal. But I want to say it before he does. I have to.

“Sex changes everything, Liz. That’s half the fun.”

“It doesn’t have to. I want us to still be friends after tonight.”

“Oh, we can be friends.” His breath ruffles my hair as he skims his fingertips down my bare arms, sending delicious shivers through my body that land low in my belly and turn my insides to goo. “But it’ll be different.”

“How so?”

“We won’t be able to look at each other without remembering what it was like. And if I have my way—” He dips his head to my ear and tugs the lobe between his teeth. A shudder rocks through me. “—every time you look at me, your panties will go damp as you remember what I did to you.”

BOOK BLURB:

Once burned…

Finding my fiancée naked on my couch might’ve been a good thing, if her ex-boyfriend hadn’t been with her. For the past eight years I’ve been a witness to the power of true love, but after getting burned I’d decided there wasn’t any hope for me finding it for myself. Until I met Noelle Brandt in a hotel bar. Maybe it wasn’t the most romantic meeting, but the moment I met her I knew I had to have her. The more I learn about her, the more I know I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her.

Twice shy…

I’d already found the love of my life, but I’d lost that love forever. And I’d been lost ever since. But one night a wounded man makes all of that go away. He makes me laugh, live, and feel alive. When he tells me he has no intention of letting me go, I finally begin to believe in the power of true love again. That is, until I find out who he really is…and by then, it’s far too late to correct the mistakes we’ve already made. By the time we both know the truth, the lines have already been blurred beyond recognition.

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** iBooks ** Kobo

WICKED Synopsis:

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Wicked Teaser 1

Excerpt:

He left me standing there as he disappeared into the bathroom, and I tried to make sense of what just happened. All I knew was that the punch-in-the-chest sadness that came whenever I thought of Shaun wasn’t there. And I didn’t know what to make of that.

Or anything.

Taking a deep breath, I put my clothes on his dresser and all but dashed into the bed, and good Lord, the mattress was comfy! I scooted to the middle and froze, having no idea what side he slept on or if he had a side. I totally had a side—always the furthest away from closet doors because I was a dork. Straightening the shirt out so my undies weren’t saying hi to the world, I tugged the blanket up to my hips and lay flat on my back.

I so needed an adult to explain to me what the hell I was supposed to do from this point on.

There wasn’t much time to stress over it because Ren returned from the bathroom. His ever-present half grin spread as he saw me. I clutched the blanket, my breath caught in my throat. My heart pounded so fast that I wondered if I was going to have a heart attack, and God, wouldn’t that be embarrassing. I swallowed nervously and willed my heart to slow.

Turning off the lamp, shadows fell around Ren, but when he faced me, I could tell that he’d frozen. I couldn’t make out his expression as he bent, taking a hold of the covers on his side.

“Ivy?”

“Hmm?”

He slowly edged the covers back from his side and climbed in, and although I couldn’t make out his eyes, I knew he was watching me. “I’m happy that you’re here.”

My fingers eased off the blanket.

As he stretched out beside me, my eyes adjusted to the lack of light, and I could see that he was smiling. “Are you?”

“Yeah,” I whispered.

“Good. That’s all I wanted to hear.”

Wow, the warmth that flooded my chest could’ve turned me into a puddle of goo in that bed. I waited for him to make a move on me, but seconds ticked by. He seriously was behaving himself. I dared a quick peek at him, and found I could not look away.

Ren lifted his arm closest to me, and a heartbeat passed. I hesitated for a moment, and then, my heart pounding even more, I slid over until my leg brushed his. He curved his arm around my waist and drew me up against his side, guiding me down until I was nestled against his warm, bare chest. Another moment passed and then I lowered my cheek, and the simple pleasure of lying like this nearly broke me right open.

Bran’s Christmas Miracle

Bran opens the umbrella as I step out the passenger side of Dad’s four-runner. “This weather fucking sucks, Captain.”

“Don’t be a Grinch, embrace California in December.” I brush my lips over his scruffy cheek. “The rest of the country gets a White Christmas or Silver Bells. We score pelting rain.”

The Sacramento Mall’s parking lot is packed with fellow procrastinators. Bran ushers me around a giant puddle as his phone rings, barely audible over the downpour.

“Aren’t you going to answer that?”

“Nope, I’m here with you.” His half smile does double duty as a grimace. “Shopping.”

“You make it sound like medieval torture.”

“If malls existed in the fourteen hundreds, I’ve no doubt the Spanish inquisition would have put them to good use.”

“Sorry I left this to the last minute. Buying presents for my dad is so hard.”

Bran rubs against me as we step onto the sidewalk. “I’m the hard one, Captain.”

I nudge him back and tap my lower lip. “Maybe we can sneak into a department store dressing room. Have a little ho, ho, ho for two?” Got to say, the idea of Bran rocking into me while I watch in a three-way mirror has a certain appeal.

A low groan tears from his throat. “Maybe I’m in the holiday spirit after all.”

“Santa can put us both on the naughty list.” I giggle before a sobering realization douses my anticipation. “Crap, wait, aren’t there security cameras behind the mirrors to catch shoplifters?”

Bran opens the mall’s entrance door, pulling me close as we enter. His tongue slides up the backside of my ear, the place that always makes me shiver. “I’ll take my chances if you will.”

“Sorry, Tiger, the idea of a security guard watching my bare ass while polishing off a Krispy Kreme is killing my lady boner. Save it for the veranda.”

We’re crashing on the broken futon at Dad and Jessie’s tonight. It’s a little sucky, but I’m not kicking my baby brother, Wyatt, out of his nursery.

Bran grimaces. “But that means Chester will watch.”

“You and that chinchilla.” I roll my eyes. “What’s the deal? He’s adorable.”

“You mean a bloody nightmare. The way he looks at me?” Bran cringes. “It’s just not right.”

“Come to think of it, I’ve never seen him looking at anyone. He’s normally, a little, you know, preoccupied?” I make a subtle wack off motion.

“Fucking hell.”

A mother leaving Starbucks with her two small children gives us a dirty look.

“Hush! Can’t take you anywhere.”

“But you’re the one who–”

I poke him in the upper ribs, while debating a peppermint latte.

He yelps. “Bloody hell, Captain, not the ticklish spot.”

“Was that a squeak?” I poke again, harder. “Wow, didn’t know you could hit that octave.”

“Stop, stop,” he gasps, trying to twist free but laughing too hard to move.

“Pretty sure dropping f-bombs at the mall is illegal, especially on Christmas Eve.”

“Fine. Fine.” He throws up his arms in mock surrender. “Anything you say.”

We’ve made it to the mall’s center. An embossed sign reads “North Pole” and a red carpet leads to a bored looking Santa lounging on a velvet throne. There’s no line, guess everyone’s already taken their obligatory holiday pictures. An elf photographer absently jingles a bell.

Suddenly, I get an idea. An awful idea. A wonderful, awful idea.

Bran’s green eyes widen a fraction. “Captain? That smile, it scares me.”

“Anything I say, huh?” I grab his jacket and tug him closer.

“Please tell me you’ve changed your mind about the dressing room.” He arches a brow, his expression wolfish. “That jumper does things to me.”

I glance at the ugly Christmas sweater Jessie’s mother knit me, it’s a picture of a sleigh and says “I believe.” As ugly sweaters go, this is probably their high lord and master, but I didn’t have the heart to reject it.

Obviously Bran finds my outfit hilarious.

I release my hold and cross my arms. “Just for that, you’re going to do whatever I say.”

“Fine, highness, what’s my punishment?”

I point at Santa Claus.

“No.” Horror takes root in his features. “No, no, no.”

“Hey, you said anything.” I shoot him a look. The look. “You can’t put caveats on what you’ll do for love. Don’t be Meatloaf”

A muscle twitches in his temple. “And what exactly do you want me to do?”

It takes epic restraint not to rub my hands together. Oh, man, this is going to be fun. “I want a picture of you on Santa’s lap.”

There’s a drawn out silence. “Little Drummer Boy” plays over the sound system.

“Captain.” His intense green eyes are panicked. “I can’t.”

I tap the toe of my boot on the ground. “What are the last four letters of American?”

He throws up his hands. “But I’m Australian.”

“You’re a token American now, even have a fancy new green card thanks to Zavtra.”

His phone rings again.

“Jesus, who keeps calling?” I ask.

He tugs out his smart phone and holds the call screen for my inspection. “Speak of the devil.”

“Z’s calling?” I shake my head. “On Christmas Eve?”

“He doesn’t get out much.”

“Your boss needs to get a life.”

“Or get laid.” Bran powers off the phone and shoves it in his pocket. “So,” his sigh is epic. “A photo of me with Santa Claus, huh?”

I bat my eyes. “Make my Christmas wish come true.”

“Bloody hell.” He hands me the umbrella and sets his shoulders as if preparing to face down a firing squad.

“You’ll do it?” My jaw drops.

“Of course.” His look is unfathomable. “You asked me too.”

I snort. “Since when does that ever make a difference?”

He gives my forehead a peck. “Consider this a holiday miracle.” He turns and strides up the red carpet, past the giant Christmas tree and reindeer cutouts, arms rigid at his sides. I press my fist to my mouth, stifling giggles.

There’s no way he’ll go through with this.

He exchanges a few curt words with the elf who glances in my direction with an amused expression before ushering Bran forward.

Santa straightens in his throne and hands Bran a candy cane. The elf nudges Bran’s shoulder, coaxes him to sit on the edge of the big man’s knee. Bran looks like he might commit murder, but he perches, doesn’t flinch, even when the elf shoves reindeer horns on his head.

The elf heads back to the camera and calls out, “One, Two, Three, Merry Christmas.”

Then Bran does it, he switches on a smile that lights up his whole face, and sets my damn heart afire. I’m so charmed that I can barely stand it.

Santa and Bran exchange a few more words before he stands and saunters toward me.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe you did that,” I say.

The elf motions for us to stay put as the printer hums to life.

“Merry Christmas, Captain.” He gives me a brusque kiss on the tip of my nose.

“So, naughty boy.” I whisper into the side of his neck. “Did Santa happen ask what you wanted for Christmas?”

“Yeah.” He braces my face between his hands and this time his kiss is slow and gentle. “I told him I already have it.”

Author: Laurelin Paige

Publication Date: December 9, 2014

Summary: Her story began long before she started working at The Sky Launch…

Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. She’s content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclub—Eighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isn’t a happily ever after. She doesn’t believe in those anyway.

Then she meets J.C.

The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but she’s not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, it’s J.C. who’s there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated.

Gwen discovers there’s a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilarating—and terrifying. When she starts to feel something for J.C., she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don’t want to set him free.

Below is a brand new scene featuring characters from Megan Erickson’s Bowler University series. This takes place shortly after the end of Make it Right. Be sure to check out the final book in the series – Make it Last – releasing on January 6, 2015!

Max Payton spat out his half-chewed bite of pecan pie onto his plate. “Why the fuck does that taste like fire?”

Lea Travers dipped her finger into the gelatinous middle of Max’s slice of pie and stuck the tip of her finger in her mouth. Max was not wrong. She could feel the searing warmth down her throat and into her stomach. Her eyes watered and she coughed.

Max leaned into her shoulder. “You all right, doll?”

“Water,” she gasped.

He reached for her glass on the coffee table in front of the couch they sat on in the Payton living room. He handed it to her and then turned to his brothers. Brent stood beside the recliner where their father was drinking a beer, and Cal leaned against the fireplace.

Brent looked pleased, chomping merrily on his pie. “I think it’s delicious.”

“What’d you do to the pie, Brent?” Cal asked.

“I made it delicious.”

“You made it burn the lining of my esophagus,” Max shot back.

Brent rolled his eyes. “You guys just can’t appreciate good Bourbon.”

“How much bourbon did you put in it?” Cal asked.

Brent didn’t answer.

Lea assumed if she checked the recycling, there’d be an empty bottle. That pie was drunk.

And seeing as Christmas Eve in the Payton household wasn’t going too hot, a hangover tomorrow was the last thing they all needed. Lea could tell her boyfriend, Max, and his brothers and Dad were trying, but they didn’t quite seem to have the holiday cheer. She wondered how the hell they got through previous holidays. Or if what she was witnessing right now was as merry as they got.

Which was sad. They were good guys. They just lacked a little finesse. A feminine touch. Their mom had left when Max was a kid.

Cal brooded by the fireplace, Jack drank in silence, and Max picked at his pie with a disgusted look on his face. Lea began to think that her plans for this evening might have been a bad idea.

Her plans that would be here in approximately five minutes.

She began to sweat and fanned her thin sweater off of her chest. Max frowned at her. “You okay?”

She wiped her forehead, like she was sweating. “Yeah, it’s just hot in here, you know? Maybe we can all go out in the backyard?”

Brent looked up from devouring his alcoholic pie. “Outside? Lea, it’s thirty degrees and dark.”

Why couldn’t they all just go with it? She had about – she glanced at the clock on the wall – T minus two minutes to get them out of the house before they heard the doorbell.

“It’s a family tradition of mine to look for shooting stars on Christmas Eve.” She was pretty proud of herself for that lie. It was a damn good one, and she’d made it up on the spot.

Max just stared at her. “What are you talking about?”

She tugged on his sleeve and stood up, bustling around to get their coats together. “Christmas Eve. Stars. Wishes. You know.” She clapped her hands together. “Round up, boys!”

Jack didn’t lower the footrest recliner. Cal was looking at her like she was crazy. Brent was picking a piece of pie off of his shirt…

And then the doorbell rang.

Cal’s head went up and he frowned. “Who the hell is ringing the doorbell on Christmas Eve?”

Lea laughed nervously. “I’m sure it’s just a solicitor or something. Okay, so backyard?”

But Cal ignored her and strode toward the front door. Max followed him and when they swung the door open, she squeezed her eyes shut. And waited.

There was a pause.

A long pause.

And when she cracked an eye open, she saw Cal scowling at the group of carolers Lea had asked to come from the local church. They were staring back at Cal like he was an axe murderer, and Max slowly turned his head to pin Lea with his gaze.

She waggled her fingers in weak wave.

Max sighed and turned back around.

There were five carolers, and the older woman in front was wearing a huge red coat over an ugly Christmas sweater and a massive fur hat. She seemed to gather herself together, and Lea had to hand it to her, because that was a bright smile in response to Cal’s frown.

“Merry Christmas, I’m Theresa and we’re from First Presbyterian over on Oakmont,” the woman said. “Would you like to hear some carols?”

Lea stepped up before Cal could answer. “Yes, please. Yes, yes we would.”

She felt a presence at her back and looked over her shoulder to see Brent, a grin on his face, his eyes on the cute young female caroler in the back. Who was blushing.

Lea rolled her eyes.

“Okay, ready?” Theresa said. “One…two…three.”

They began to sing a somewhat tentative version of “Jingle Bells.” Even so, Lea had to admit they sounded absolutely lovely, with a young guy in the back accompanying with a set of bells.

When that was over, Cal looked like he was going to close the door. But Lea could see Max beginning to smile, Brent bobbing his head, and Jack had even risen from his statue-like state on his recliner to listen to the carolers.

“Another please?” Lea asked.

Theresa nodded and turned to her group. Lea swore she saw a twinkle in Theresa’s eye as she communicated silently with her group.

Then Theresa turned around, and the carolers launched into a rousing rendition of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

And it was lovely. And fun. Brent began clapping and even placed his fingers in his mouth and whistled. Max grabbed Lea’s hand and swayed to beat. Even Cal was smiling, leaning back against the open door, his lips moving as he sang silently along with the carolers. Lea swore she caught Jack tapping his toe.

Lea threw back her head and laughed as Max picked her up and twirled her. He leaned his forehead against hers. “You already made me the happiest guy in the world, and now you’re trying to work your magic on my family?”

“I have no idea what you mean,” she said with fake innocence as she gripped his dark hair tightly.

He lowered her to the ground. “Yeah ya do. And we all appreciate it.”

She ran her fingers along the stubble on his jaw. “Merry Christmas, Max.”

He leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to her lips. “Merry Christmas, doll.”
