Nashville – The Music City – Falling Under by Jasinda Wilder

I was really looking forward to a revisit to the Music City.  And could there be a better time than on Spring Break?  I know most people think of Country music when Nashville pops to mind.  Once upon a time that was probably me too.  I can’t believe that it has been nearly 10 years since I spent a weekend in the Vanderbilt University area and met my bestie.  So as I make my way to Florida and Rhy’s Keep Me Closer, I thought Nashville and Jasinda Wilder’s Falling Under would be perfect.

I fell for Colton Calloway in Falling Into You…loved him.  And couldn’t believe how very much I loved Becca and Jason in Falling Into Us.  When I saw that Falling Under was going to feature Kylie Calloway, Colt and Nell’s daughter, and offer Colton’s POV…Hello, no brainer!  Another bonus meeting Ben, Becca and Jason’s son…yep, definite read.

We start off in Nashville, in a college math class.  We do get a bit of a tour of Nashville with Falling Under.  From a gated community to an older rundown neighborhood.  And we get a feel of the Music City and how music happens from the open mic night to honkey-tonks and bars.  To satisfy my reminiscing, we even get a mention of Vanderbilt University.

I am immediately taken in as the story opens and we meet Oz.  Oz Hyde, bad boy biker.  Over 6’4″, longish hair and tattoos wearing faded, ripped jeans, a rocker t-shirt and scuffed combat boots…riding a motorcycle.  He is instantly attracted to pretty Kylie Calloway with her strawberry blonde hair and electric blue eyes.

One of the things that had me excited to read Falling Under was to see what more Colt had to tell us.  Jasinda Wilder does a wonderful job with Colt’s POV.  We get his emotions every time the story shifts to him…when he sees himself in Oz, when he wants to protect Kylie and when he sees Nell and himself in Kylie.  It was wonderful to see Colt and Nell as parents.

With Falling Under, I was left very satisfied with Kylie and Oz’s story.  We get a love story that revisits old friends in Colt, Nell, Becca and Jason, a past uncovered, a new relationship in Kylie and Oz, and a future to discover in Ben.  Falling Under is a great addition to Jasinda Wilder’s continuation series, Falling.  I am so very much looking forward to Ben Dorsey’s story.

What a great first stop on my Spring Break!

Falling Under

My name is Colton Calloway. You’ve heard part of my story, but it turns out there’s more. My little girl, Kylie, is all grown up. Seventeen, beautiful, and talented, just like her mother. And just like Nell, my daughter seems to have fallen for a bad boy, one with a lot of darkness and a lot of secrets.

You thought you knew the whole story. You thought it was over. Happily ever after for everyone.

You were wrong.

My name is Oz Hyde, and you’ve never met me. I’m part of the story, too, but I’m an aside, a quick line or two you’d all but forgotten about. Well guess what? I’ve got my own story to tell.

Buckle up, ‘cause this is gonna be a hell of a bumpy ride.

starting Spring Break

Decided to start Spring Break making my way to Florida andRhyannon Byrd‘s Keep Me Closer…first stop is Nashville withJasinda Wilder‘s Falling Under. Should be hitting the Music City this evening, can’t wait to let you know how this visit goes. I’ve been looking forward to finally reading about Kylie and Oz.

So excited!!!

I think I’m finally ready to combine two of my most favorite things…travel and books.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a reader.  There are pictures of a much younger me reading(or pretending to read) to my younger sister…just the start of my desire to share good stories with other people.  Although I’ve always been a reader, I’ve never seen myself as a writer.  It took me some time to find a way to get excited about writing reviews for books I’ve read.

My answer…

combine my love of travel and new places with the books I’ve read.  I’ll be sharing some great reads and some fabulous places/settings.

Here’s to traveling near and far…a new journey with each read. 🙂
